Windows 10: i cannot type in the windows search bar or the login screen.

i’m in windows 10, and for over a year i literally cannot type anything in the search bar at the bottom or the login screen/windows app store. i literally cannot login to microsoft! i don’t know what to do. i’ve tried almost everything on the support page and cannot get ahold of any one at windows. i’ve reset the drivers, i’ve done everything. please help

This can be caused by corrupted system files. To help resolve the issue, we suggest following the steps provided by Abdul_Malik in this
thread that was found helpful in resolving the same issue. After doing so, try using
the search bar and see if you can type anything on it.

Search bar stuck while trying to type in the search bar

We would like to know more information regarding your concern so that we will know why the search bar is not working. Have you recently made any changes/updates prior to this issue?

Did you run the troubleshooter to rebuild the indexing? If not, I would suggest that you run the troubleshooter to fix common indexing issue. You can run the troubleshooter by performing these steps:

• Press the Windows key on your keyboard and type
  Troubleshoot.
• Choose Troubleshoot in the results.
• Under Find and fix other problems highlight
  Search and Indexing then click Run the troubleshooter.
