Windows 10: Windows 2019 Server Updates Failing error code 0x80070003

Hi, We have been having the issue of one of the Windows server updates failing since last month's 2025-05/06 update. What is weird is that we got 2 DCs that are both replicated to each other, but one had no issue with patching Both May/June updates but the other one keeps having issue. In the last update, the initial error code was as follows: 2025-05 Cumulative Update for Windows Server 2019 1809 for x64-based Systems KB5058392 4Last failed install attempt on 2025-05-16 - 0xe000100 2025-05 Cumulative Update for Windows Server 2019 1809 for x64-based Systems KB5058392 - Err

Windows Store keep on failing to update with 0x80070003

Many thanks for your response. I tried doing the steps you have suggested but still I cannot update my apps in Windows Store. Like now currently I have 4 apps which keep on failing to update with the error code 0x80070003.
Then when I try clicking check for updates it will add 3 more apps. Then I will try to update the 7 apps, the 3 newly added apps say completed but the 4 apps still have the Error Try that again, with the error code above. I will try to update again, and the
same thing happens even after trying all the steps you have suggested.

 

Unable to update from 1809 to 1903 with error 0x80070003

Hello,
For the past week I've been failing to upgrade my Windows 10 desktop from 1809 to 1903

The update process is always the same:
The update downloads successfuly, I restart the computer, It shuts down (with the usual update progress bar that gets to 100%). It boots up and then at 9% the update stops and it says: "Failure configuring Windows updates. Reverting changes. Do not turn off your computer". Then it boots up normaly to 1809.

I've tried the folllowing things:
1. Windows 10 Update Assistant - Same error
2. Deleting Windows Update files - Same error
3. I ran disk checks and Windows Update troubleshooter - Same error

I've looked at the "setuperr.log" (C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther\setuperr.log) file and it always shows the following error at the bottom:

My computer only has a C: drive, the D: drive is the optical drive. I don't have anything in it or any other storage device connected to the computer during the update.


System information:

• Desktop: Windows 10 Home 1809
• CPU: Intel i5-4440
• RAM: 8 GB DDR3
• HDD: 1 Tb (300+ Gb free)

 

Cumulative Updates for Server 2019 failing with error code: 0X80070057

Half of our 2019 servers are failing cumulative updates with error code 0X80070057.

Server installs the upgrade and rollbacks during restart.

Have followed basic solutions like cleaning DISM and sfc scannow, no change.

Any ideas on how to solve this?
