Hello why do windows 11 does not have an option to go back to admin local account? This happened after i created an account in this laptop using my microsoft account. I already gone through settings > Accounts > Your info > manage my accounts and i dont see any option to remove my microsoft account in this win 11 laptop.

Local account installation question

I'm fairly certain that Skip this step was available in 10.0.130 - the workaround in Step 20 (back button) is no longer required.

The currently known, as of 10.0.130, ways to create a Local account sign-in are

• Skip this step at the MS account creation phase
• No Internet connection during the install
• static IP (post# 2 by Fragment) - New (to me anyway)

 

Locked Out of Admin Account

1. Are you using a Microsoft account or a local account?
   
2. Which version of Windows 10 you are using currently?
   
3. Is the other user account an admin account?
   

I suggest you to try using the on screen keyboard at the login page and check if you are able to login to the PC.

1. At the login screen click on the
   ease of access icon at the bottom right hand corner.
   
2. Click on the on screen keyboard to open it.
   
3. Type the password and try to login.
   

If you are using a Microsoft account, I suggest you to refer the article on

how to reset your Microsoft account password.



However, if you are using a local account, then I suggest you to refer the article on

reset your Windows 10 local account password.



Note: While performing these steps, there might be a risk of data loss. You may take a backup of the data before performing the steps.

How do I remove the email associated with a local admin account in Windows 11 while keeping the local account and all my settings/info?

We checked my son's email in edge, and now his email is the admin email for the computer. There does not appear to be an option to change this. I just want the local account back. The login is still local, but his email is the admin email, now.

I don't want to have to reinstall everything or add accounts and change their security level or change to Windows Hello or move all my files to a new admin account. I did not choose to associate the email with the account. I did not buy a Mac. I bought a Windows machine, on purpose, so I could have options.

Clarification: the account is still listed as local, with the local password for login, but the local account avatar has been replaced with his avatar and in the account info, his email is listed as the email of the local admin account.
