    How to boot from USB or, rather, how to fix 0xc000014c


    When my computer encountered the 0xc000014c error for the first time I didn't think much of it. I went to find some info on how to fix it. The first method I saw was to go into Windows' recovery mode. And to do that you have to wait until the Windows logo with the spinning dots underneath it appears and restart your computer multiple times until it finally launches it. Except my computer doesn't even get to that screen... It goes from the Dell screen to the error screen directly with no inbetween AKA no Windows logo. Next I tried booting from a USB. I had the Win10 ISO installed on it. Excep

    I've tried this but get, "the system cannot find the path specified", after inputting each CMD line.

    Your system is having a hard drive issue with a critical file required for booting. Try the fixes suggested in this tip: http://www.errorlive.com/0xc000014c I recommend you do NOT download their "fix tool". No way of knowing what it will really do. Try
    googling for the error code for other suggested fixes.
