    Windows Defender window has frozen my laptop, instructs to call number.


    I opened Windows Edge and logged onto Facebook, and clicked on the button that indicated I had a message in messenger. My computer immediately went to the Windows Defender page and says it has disabled my computer and provides a "Windows Support number". I have not tried to call that number. The screen is locked and I'm unable to do anything but turn the laptop off. I logged onto my windows account on my Mac laptop and requested a call from support through my windows account and am awaiting a call now. Does this seem like a legitimate Windows Security action or has my laptop been hacked?

    could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
