Windows 10: Wifi card Atheros QCA9377 cant pick up 5ghz signal, even the 2.4ghz only 1-2 bars

So, I have 5 years old laptop, the wifi card is QCA9377, already the latest driver installed.For some reasons now it cannot pick up 5ghz signal, even with the 2.4ghz can only get 1-2 barsI followed everything from youtube still not working.is there something I should do?Btw the problem now solved since I bought usb wifi dongle, even though the wifi2 I can only get 2.4ghz but the signal is quite strong 4bars, and with the wifi 3 dongle I get dual band.but just curious what happened with the Atheros wifi card

Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 WirelessNetworkAdapter is missing/not present

I had a similar problem with the Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4 card and it turned out the driver was not signed.

I had to find an upto date signed driver and inject it into install.wim and clean install OS before device manager even recognised the hardware.

As it is not recognised, it may be under other devices. If so, then try and install driver there. If it finds one and says unsigned, you may have to disable secure boot and do an advanced start from recovery menus and select troubleshooting advanced options, startup settings, and select option to disable driver signature enforcement.

However, next time you boot pc, you will need to do it all over again until you find a signed driver (Atheros are bad for that on older cards).

It is probably easier just to buy a usb wifi dongle or wifi card (not Atheros).

Another workaround is to wifi bridge link a secondary router to main router and connect to secondary router via an ethernet port.

I depends, generally those USB adapters can pick up any signal within 100 meters and can pick up both 2,4Ghz and 5Ghz WiFi networks

So it depends on the WiFi card in your PC, whether it has the same capabilities . .

Open Device Manager (accessible by right clicking your Start Button)

Expand the Network Adapters section

What WiFi card is listed there?
