Windows 10: Email not arriving with verification code, completely locked out of laptop

Hello,I have a Lenovo laptop that I use for my school work and a few days ago there was a BIOS update. I went ahead with the update and upon updating, my laptop prompted me to use a BitLocker recovery key. I was able to sign in to my Microsoft account on my phone and went ahead and put in that code, but when I got to the login screen on my laptop, it said my PIN could no longer be used and needed to be changed. So, I went to go change the pin, which prompted me to sign in with my email. It then said it would send a verification code to my email and I have no emails. I have checked spam, I have

verification code isn't arriving.

My step daughter has forgotten her password. We have asked for the verification code, which should come to my email address and its not arriving. Its exam time, she needs her computer and can't sign on at all
