Discus and support Creating a Default Layout of Files within Folders in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; I am Win 11 64 Bit V 24H2 fully updated. I have 4 sets of Master Folders.     Creating a Default Layout of Files within Folders


    I am Win 11 64 Bit V 24H2 fully updated. I have 4 sets of Master Folders. Documents, Pictures, Videos and Music. Within each of the above 4 I have lots of Folders sub folders? Within each category the screen layout within Windows Explorer displays differently on opening that Master Folder and its Subs - e.g. Pictures tends to default to Icons . Music as a Details Format but with different column headers.My wish is that on opening any of the Folders it defaults to option Details showing the files within it under Column HeadersThis should apply to Documents Pictures Videos and Music.

    Did you download and run Brink's .bat file in Step 1 ? Lacking that, look at the screens in post 3. In Step 5 'folders of this type' defaults to each of the Windows templates for Pictures, Music, etc. If you want ALL folders to have the same List view, r-click any folder in each of the 5 folders under This PC (Desktop does not apply) and hit 'Customize this folder'. Set to 'Optimize this folder for General Items". Then follow the screen in post 3 using List instead of Details in Step 1 and you should be good to go.

    The problem you've encountered in creating a folder could be caused by software or program conflict as the issue appeared a few days after installing the Windows 10 Creators update. For us to know if this only occurs when creating a new folder from the desktop,
    we suggest that you try creating a new folder using a keyboard shortcut or from File Explorer. Please refer to the steps below:

    Creating a new folder using a keyboard shortcut.

    • Click on the desktop.
    • Press CTRL + SHIFT + N.
    • A new folder should be created.

    Creating a new folder from File Explorer.

    • Open File Explorer.
    • Hover your mouse on the location where you want to create a new folder.
    • Right-click it, go to New > Folder.

    In case the problem persists, then we suggest that you go ahead and perform a clean boot. Doing so will start your computer using minimal drivers to help us determine what conflict is causing the problem. Check out

    How to change the default keyboard layout shortcut.

    Hi,

    I would like to inform you that presently you may change the default keyboard layout by pressing
    Windows key + space and I would like to inform you that it is not possible to change the keyboard shortcut for the keyboard layout.

    • If you would like to create shortcut for the applications, please follow the below steps:
    • Right click on the application and select properties.
    • Enter a key combination in the Shortcut key field. The combination must be CTRL + ALT + a letter / number.
