  1. Outlook won’t receive code to reset pc pin

I restarted my PC and suddenly it told me that there is something wrong with my pin and I need to set it up again. In order to do that I need to enter a code from my outlook email but I have not received any codes at all. I have logged into my outlook from chrome, in incognito mode, and also the outlook app on my iPad and haven’t received any codes. I have looked at the troubleshooting verification pages and the account password reset however it is not helpful at all since this is a reset of my PC pin not my Microsoft accpunt. And I don’t know why the code isn’t being sent to my outlook. There

    Outlook Stuck on Send/Receive

@bartjunited I have one troubleshooting suggestion for you, but it's slightly advanced method to determine a problem, since you so far found no solution it might help you identify a problem. Step 1: Download process monitor: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sy...nloads/procmon Step 2: Download my custom configuration for process monitor, find it in attachment Step 3: Extract archive to your Desktop or some other convenient location Step 4: Run process monitor as Administrator Step 5: Click on File -> Import Configuration menu and import the file from extracted archive called ProcmonConfiguration.pmc Step 6: Click on Filters -> Filter... menu and in a window that appears unckheck "TCP Receive" option and click OK Step 7: Run outlook to be ready to troubleshoot it Step 8: In process monitor click on red "trash bin" icon to clear all contents in process monitor Step 9: In office click on "send\receive" to start mail syncronization Step 10: In process monitor you'll see Cyan colored lines which indicate failed or closed connection or disconnection. In the output you care only about outlook program (ignore the rest), specifically those ports which you configured for your mail in question Make sure that for each such cyan line there is corresponding "TCP Receive" for outlook program If there is no matching "TCP receive" this mean you identified a problem which is that outlook fails to communicate with google for given mail configuration. If that's the case your next step is to reconfigure mail configuration and try again troubleshoot it. You'll know your modification to mail configuration works when you see coresponding TCP receive operation.

  3. Forgotten PIN and expired password

    Hi Dyari,

    Thanks for your answer.

I tried steps of both links:

    • #1: reset PIN code
      • I see no link "reset your PIN"on login page --> I can't reset it
    • #2: change or reset windows password
      • My Windows account is not displayed at all on login page.
      • I am using a local account
If you have any other suggestion, I would be more than happy to try.

    Regards,

    Guillaume

Pin reset in Windows10 update, error 0x8007054f

    Hi Marty,

If you're having trouble using your PIN to sign into Windows 10, try resetting your PIN. Follow these steps:

    1. On the sign-in screen, select I forgot my PIN below the PIN text box. If there are multiple accounts on the PC, choose the one you need to reset.
    2. On the Enter your password screen, type the password for your Microsoft account, and then select Next.
    3. On the Help us protect your info screen, choose to receive your security code either as a text or email message. If you select text, type the last four digits of your phone number, and then select Send Code. Learn
more about security info and security codes
      .
    4. When you get the code as a text or email message on a separate device, enter it on the Enter the code you received screen, and then select Next.
    5. In the Set up a PIN dialog box, enter your new PIN and confirm it. Your new PIN is set.

Note: If you've just updated your computer to Windows 10, verify your network connectivity by opening Settings > Network and Internet. After connecting, try signing in with your PIN again.

Let us know how it goes.
