  1. Should a BitLocker encrypted stolen Windows 11 device be remote wiped?

As per Microsoft:"A wipe is useful for resetting a device before you give the device to a new user, or when the device has been lost or stolen. Be careful about selecting Wipe. Data on the device can't be recovered. The method that "Wipe" uses to remove data is simple file deletion, and the drive is BitLocker decrypted as part of this process."https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/intune/intune-service/remote-actions/devices-wipe#:~:text=A%20wipe%20is,of%20this%20process.From what I understand, If BitLocker suspension takes effect properly, the device resets, and the disk is wiped and Windows

My device was stolen and I can't locate it. If I remove it from my Microsoft account devices will it remove the bitlocker encryption? Or will the bitlocker encryption remain?

My device was stolen and I haven't been able to locate it on 'My Devices'. If I remove it from my Microsoft account devices will it remove the bitlocker encryption? Or will the bitlocker encryption remain regardless? Thanks for any info.

    Hello, this is Emily.

I am sorry your device was stolen. If location service wasn't turned on prior to this, or if the computer is not turned on/connected to the internet, the tracking feature will not work.

You can remove the device from your Microsoft accoun, that will not affect the bitlocker encryption. Whoever has your computer will need the bitlocker key to access your computer. However, they can also perform a clean install to wipe out everything.
