  1. GPU causes windows to fail to boot

Recently every now and then my computer won't boot into windows, and instead go to PCIe repair. I'm pretty sure that this problem is coming from my GPU because when I take the GPU out, it boots fine. The GPU in question is an AMD RX 590. To fix this problem I plug in my hdmi cable into the motherboard GPU, but then I only have one screen. I can't get the GPU to show up in device manager when I load into Windows, even if I try to put a cable into the GPU. Please help, I'm at a loss and don't know what to do. I'm running this on Windows 10 22H2 if that helps.

  2. Pc boots up to BIOS After removing gpu

    Hello Yuval Evron,

Good to see you in Microsoft Community.

It seems like there are a few different issues happening with your PC booting into BIOS after removing the GPU and some previous changes to the motherboard, CPU, and RAM.

Let's try to troubleshoot the problem step by step:

    1. Re-seat the GPU: Before we do anything else, try re-seating the GPU back into its original slot. Sometimes, improper connections can cause booting issues.
    2. Disable CSM (Compatibility Support Module): Since you mentioned that enabling CSM did work before, try disabling it this time. If the option keeps reverting to enabled, it could be a sign of a BIOS issue or an incompatibility. If disabling CSM doesn't work, re-enable it for now.
    3. Check boot priority: Ensure that the boot priority is set correctly in the BIOS. The drive containing your operating system (usually your primary storage drive) should be set as the first boot option.
    4. Check for Windows corruption: To rule out Windows-related issues, you can try creating a bootable USB with Windows installation media (using another PC) and see if it recognizes your storage drive during the installation process. If it does, you can attempt to repair or reinstall Windows. This will also help verify if your OS drive is functioning correctly.
    5. Test with a different GPU (if available): If you have access to another GPU, try installing it in your system and see if the PC boots up properly. This will help determine if the issue is related to the GPU or something else.
    6. Test without the GPU: As a final step, try booting the system without the GPU installed. If your CPU has integrated graphics (check if your CPU supports this feature), connect your display directly to the motherboard's video output. This will help determine if the issue is isolated to the GPU or if there's a broader problem.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's possible that there could be a hardware proble

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

New Secondary Drive Causes Boot Failure Windows 10

For the second time now, Windows 10 failed to boot after initializing and formatting a spare drive (using Windows Disk Management). After the boot fail, UEFI boot settings were still set to boot from Windows Boot Manager, but it still wouldn't boot, just goes into diagnostic mode, fails to repair boot problem, and goes to the repair menu. In advanced options I can then load a recent image (made with Windows 7 Backup and Recovery in control panel), and everything goes back to normal. My question is what causes this problem, and how do I repair it without re-imaging Windows? I don't recall ever having this problem in other Windows versions, only in Windows 10. Anyone else notice this problem?

GPU causes windows to fail to boot

Windows update failed and unable to boot

    Hi Chrissy,

To assist you better help us with the information below.

    • Have you made any recent software/hardware changes to the computer?
    • Do you get any error message or code when trying to boot into the computer?
When installing updates it puts message “Do not shut down your machine”, if you unplug the AC adapter or turn off the computer Chances are:

    • Windows resuming the installation process next time you shutdown.
    • A non-vital program file becomes corrupted and causes some feature of the OS to become unusable and crash.
As an initial step I would suggest you to unplug all external devices if connected and then try to boot the computer by plugging in the AC adapter and check if you are able to boot the computer.

If the computer boots make sure all the updates are installed and then you can login to user Interface.

If you still not able to unable to get the in Windows Bootable environment I Would suggest you contact your manufacturer.

Get back to us if your require more help on this query.

    Thank you.
