Windows 10: Pin task bar weather app

How do I stop the task bar weather app changing to show news etc? I just want it to show the temperature - ie, "18C Mostly Sunny" All other options Casual games, Finance, Sports, etc are switched off in the settings.

I use to be able to drag and drop files onto the task bar and they would reside withing the file list for that program. Since the recent upgrade it appears that I am not able to pin a file to the program on the task bar. Suggestions?
