Windows 10: I seem to have inadvertently turned off sound on my laptop.

I am using Microsoft 365. Two or 3 months ago while meandering around my laptop I came across an image of a media player image Windows Media Player Legacy App and I must have inadvertently turned it OFF. I need it to be ON. Where can I find that image again? I've tried Apps in Settings and I could remove the app and install WMP12 but can't work out how to install it via 365. Can anyone advise me please note: I am old and not very literate?

Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

 

Sound Quality

One thing that sticks out from looking at your "My Computer" specs. You list "ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)" which suggests you do not have the correct sound hardware driver. Your motherboard has Realtek sound and the first step is to install the Realtek sound drivers. My ASUS also came with Sonic Studio 2 which is a sound enhancement package. Check the ASUS install disc to see if you have something similar.

May not be a speaker problem.

 

Black display after inadvertently turning on HDR

I got a black display after inadvertently turning on HDR. I was adding an external 4K monitor to my laptop. I clicked on HDR inadvertently. Both screens started flashing then went black. I rebooted. Lenovo boot logo comes up but the laptop screen stays black. I get a cursor on the external monitor but I don’t on laptop screen. Tried rebooting while repeatedly pressing F8 to boot in safe mode but screen stays black. So I’m locked. What can I do?
