  1. How to use secondary network adapter to be DHCP server and gateway for another network device?

Hello.I'm running Windows 11 Home. I have two Ethernet adapters: one is integrated with motherboard, the other is a PCI-E card. I am connected to the Internet via the first adapter. I have a few devices 3D printer, digital oscilloscope, function generator, etc. that can be connected via LAN to a computer, in theory. In practice I can't figure out, how to set up my secondary LAN adapter to act as both DHCP server and network gateway for these devices that are configured to seek DHCP configuration. Some of them also need access to the Internet to check for firmware updates. So my questions:1. I

    2 Network Media Server setup

Okay if I am understanding this correctly you have a usenet/media server on your 6 meg connection and you want to be able to access this server from your devices on the other connection?

If this is correct there are a few things you need to do.

    1. Make sure all devices are on the same IP subnet. For example if your Laptop on the 25 meg connection has an IP address of 192.168.1.112 with a subnet maske of 255.255.255.0 then you will need to setup the other router and file server to have an IP address in the 192.168.1.x range (make sure you utilise the same subnet mask, most likely 255.255.255.0 on a home network). Make sure that neither of these addresses are taken on the other network, also ensure that these addresses are set statically.

    2. Turn off the DHCP server functionality of the 6mb router if enabled.

    3. Interconnect the two networks. The easiest way to do this would be to connect all the devices into one switch.

    4. Ensure that the default gateway on the usenet server is set to that of the 6mb router, easiest way to do this is to set it statically.

Connecting your network this way will effectively mean that the 25mb part of the network will remain the same (plus the switch of course) and the secondary 6mb network will be converted to a static setup rather than dynamic. You could also force any other device on your network to to go through the 6mb connection if desired simply by manually changing the default gateway IP address.

If you want to achieve the same results and still keep DHCP on both subnets things will start to get very complicated.

Network problem after router change. Help.

Ok, I just looked up steps for the 120.
Disconnect it from your existing network, and assign it an IP outside of the the 54g's DHCP pool. (or reserve it's IP address using the 120's(sorry earlier I typod 150) MAC).
Disable the DHCP server in the 120N - this will cause it just to act as an access point.
Remember to set your gateway in the 120N as your network IP for the 54g.

Afterthought: If the 120N has a wireless network isolation option, make sure it is disabled or unchecked!

Unidentified network. Unable to contact your DHCP server.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update and response.

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

    1. Press Windows Key + X key and click Device Manager.

    2. Expand ‘Network Adapters’.

    3. Right-click on the network Adapter listed and click on ‘Update Driver Software’.

    4. Select the option to automatically search for the updated driver software.

    5. Restart the computer after its updated and verify.

If the issue persist then I suggest you to reinstall the network drivers from the manufacturer website and check if it helps.

Hope this helps. If the issue remains unresolved, please get back to us and we would be happy to help
