Hello Microsoft Team,I would like to bring to your attention an inconsistency in how the Windows Calculator handles the inverse cotangent [removed_js]. This issue has implications for students, educators, and professionals relying on accurate mathematical behavior from built-in tools.Observed Behavior:When I enter the expression in Windows Calculator Scientific:arccotxthe Windows Calculator returns the error:"Cannot divide by zero"This suggests that the calculator is evaluating cot⁻¹x as:arccotx = arctan1/xThis is not the mathematically standard definition and leads to unexpected beh

  2. Windows 10 Standard Calculator not using standard order of operations

    Hi,

We appreciate you for being part of Windows 10.

This issue may arise if you are using Standard calculator.

    Try the below steps:

    • Open the Calculator through Start menu.

    • Once you open, click on menu button (Three horizontal lines at top left corner).

    • Select Scientific calculator.

    • Now type 1+2*3, it will give the answer as 7.
Note: There will be different way of operations integrated into Standard and Scientific calculators.

Hope the above information helps. Kindly let us know if you need any further assistance with Windows. We are glad to assist you.

    Thank you.

  3. Decimal point in Windows 10 Calculator (standard mode) doesn't work!!!!

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    • Are you referring to the default calculator or the other modern calculator apps from the store?

    • Since when are you facing the issue?
I suggest you to run Windows App Troubleshooter and check if it helps.

Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store - Microsoft Support

    Hope it helps.

Switching Between Windows - Inconsistent Behavior

    Hello Community,

This behavior started approximately 3 weeks ago. Hardware and software configuration has remained the same before and after the issue manifested. (Details below)

    What I see is this:

    1) I have more than 1 application open

    2) I have 2 or more icons in the taskbar - one "active" (currently in use) and one "Inactive" (in the background or minimized)

    3) I click the "inactive" icon to bring the inactive window forward.

    4) Here's where it gets weird:

    • The context in the taskbar changes (now the inactive program is highlighted as active)
    • You can see briefly the animation of the other window maximizing
    • The "active window" loses context and the active content areas go grey as if the window is now inactive
    • But the previously "inactive" window which should now be active stays hidden in the background and does not come forward.
    • I can minimize the active window to get at the other one, which IS indeed maximized in the background, but it won't "come to front"
    • If I have a smaller window tiled on top of a larger one, and click the larger window in the background, the smaller window (though inactive now) stays on top. (Example - calculator open on top of Firefox - when I click on Firefox the calculator stays on
top even though it has no reason to.)
This behavior happens clicking on the taskbar AND using Alt+Tab

This behavior is not consistent. Sometimes it works fine. Sometimes I can click an icon 2 or 3 times (maximize, minimize, maximize again) and the inactive window will come to front as expected. Sometimes it takes 6 or 7 attempts. Sometimes it doesn't work
    at all.

I have not used the "stay on top" functionality (Ctrl+Space)

I have not enabled the ease of access feature for "Hover to Activate" windows

The problem happens using touchpad/keyboard on laptop and external USB mouse and keyboard.

I am running Windows 10 Home, 64-bit. I am running a Dell Alienware 17 laptop with i7-4980HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz and 16GB RAM. System performance is not an issue.

Most commonly this occurs when I have Firefox, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and an Explorer window open. I basically can't switch between the windows reliably without minimizing everything and opening one window at a time.

Thank you so much as any help would be greatly appreciated, this is driving me nuts!
