Windows 10: Chrome and edge are the only browsers I can launch?

Chrome and edge are the only browsers I can launch. all the other ones open for a split second and then close. I did a clean boot and was able to launch the programs but had no internet. when I launched it normally I was unable to open any other browsers. this started today.

Have you tried resetting your browser? If not, we suggest you to do so. To reset Edge, follow these steps:

• 
  Go to
  Browser Settings.
  
• 
  Clear
  Browser Data.
  
• 
  Close the browser and launch it again.
  

If the issue persist, follow these other steps:

• 
  Go to
  Task Manager.
  
• 
  Click on
  MicrosoftedgeCP.exe
  
• 
  End the task.

Edge or Chrome not responding under Window 10

Hi,

There may be a few reasons for this type of issue to occur. As a first troubleshooting step, we suggest trying to clear cache and browsing history, and try again. Here are the steps:

• Click the three-dotted icon on the upper right part of the Edge browser.
• Select Settings.
• Click Advanced settings.
• Click Choose what to clear under Clear browsing data.
• Check all that applies and click clear.
• Close the browser and launch again.

Unable to set Chrome as default browser in Windows 10.

Not sure why I started having problems with Chrome this week--it seemed to begin following the most recent Windows update--first Chrome didn't even want to launch but somehow that got resolved (or something I did resolved it). Then I couldn't get Chrome
to be accepted as the default browser--when I went to settings and selected Chrome as the default browser it wouldn't save my choice (same thing with IE and even Edge) but following Guru's steps suggested in his reply solved the problem! Chrome is now again
my default browser and I'm pleased! Thanks for solving this very annoying and baffling problem!
