Windows 10: "Pin not available" when trying to log in

I cannot log into my computer. When I turn it on, it says "something happend and your PIN isn't available. Click to set up your PIN again". I click, it asks me if I'm sure, I click continue, then it says "something went wrong" and that it can't set up my PIN now. It says I can skip this step, but then it takes me back to the first step. I cannot configure anything in start or settings, because I can't get into the computer itself. I just got the laptop yesterday, so I only have fingerprint and PIN set up for login, and it won't take fingerprint.

I suggest you to try the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Click on Sign-in options on the log on screen. Select Microsoft account.
• Try logging in using Microsoft account and password.
• Once you log into the system, try to change the PIN under accounts/sign-in page.
• Select the Start
  
  button, then select
  Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
• Try to reset the PIN.

Log in PIN Not Working after PC Repair

This issue indeed occurs when the BIOS updates or hardware changes are detected by Windows 10. Here are some steps that you can try to resolve the issue:

1. Use Microsoft Account Password: Try logging into your account using your Microsoft account password instead of the PIN. If you can log in, navigate to "Settings" > "Accounts" > "Sign-in options". Here, you should be able to remove the old PIN and set up a new one.
   
2. Reset PIN in Safe Mode: Restart your PC and enter Safe Mode. Then, navigate to "Settings" > "Accounts" > "Sign-in options". Try to reset your PIN here.
   
3. Delete NGC folder: If you're comfortable doing this, you could try deleting the contents of the NGC folder, which is where Windows stores PIN information. Here are the steps:
   
   • Log into your account using your Microsoft account password.
     
   • Navigate to C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft.
     
   • You should see a folder named "NGC". Right-click on it, select "Properties", uncheck "Read-only", and click "Apply".
     
   • Now, open the NGC folder, select all the contents inside, and delete them.
     
   • After this, restart your PC and try to set up a new PIN.

Pin Login not available and can't change or remove my pin

Hi Saschavan,

To help you disable your PIN login, kindly follow the steps below:

• Go to this location: Settings/Accounts/Sign-in options
• Check the PIN options and click the I forget my PIN available to click?
  
• Enter your password, it will prompt you to enter a new PIN.
• Click Cancel and your PIN should be disable upon reboot.
