Windows 10: Trying to use a forgotten password, but even after waiting a period of time, it tells me...

Here's the problem, folks. I'm unable to login at the moment. This problem started on Monday when I got my password wrong twice. No big deal till I was never able to get an email from Microsoft again till 2 days later. Even now, it tells me "Try another verification method. That verification method isn't working right now. Please try another method."Since these are the only two available methods, I'm perpetually stuck. When I use email it just says "already used" or try another method. I'm lost, stuck and, most of all, frustrated. The sign-in helper this no help either. I submitted for the 30-

Password Reset to allow grace period for forgotten new password; such as old password resuable within grace period ?

IT recommends password to be memorized but for me, memory becomes better with practise; I find memorising new password easier day by day.

For lack of a better memorization method, is it possible for Password Reset to accomodate such situation where user needs time to fully memorize a new password?

My suggestion is if new password is forgotten, old password is still re-usable within grace period.

Is there a better alternative?
