I've been using Microsoft Copilot primarily to prepare promotional messages for a gaming livestream, which I send as a moderator. However, when I ask it to generate messages outside the gaming genre—for example, a birthday message—it still includes gaming references, even when I don’t mention anything related to gaming. I looked for a setting to disable memory, similar to what's available in ChatGPT, but couldn’t find one. Eventually, I ended up deleting all my Copilot activity history from my Microsoft account settings. That partially solved the issue, but it also deleted my entire chat hist

How to disable copilot in Windows 11 23H2?

There is a solution to keep Copilot out of your eyesight, it does not permanently remove or uninstall Copilot from your Windows 11 environment. Microsoft is persistent and Copilot is inevitable, not to mention the latest computers are equipped with a dedicated Copilot Key in the keyboard. Hence, it is up to us to get used to this feature, and also the field of AI is exponentially increasing, so it is better to get used to it. However, the simple solution is to disable copilot via Taskbar as you mentioned that Policy Editor didn't help. The following are the steps.

• Go to Windows Settings.
  
• Click on Personalization.
  
• Under Taskbar, you can find Copilot (preview)
  
• Toggle the switch to Off.
  
• In this way, Copilot can be kept out of sight.

How to get Copilot out of the way of copy and paste

Out of the blue today Windows Copilot started interposing itself on my copy and paste operations, requiring me to interact both on the copy and the paste end of the transaction. Who wants this?

What I found is easy. Here are the steps

1. Start gpedit. (You can find this app via search from the Start menu.) Open the Local Group Policy Editor.
   
2. Using the left pane of the editor navigate down through: User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Copilot.
   
3. In the right pane you will see the setting Turn Off Windows Copilot. Double-click.
   
4. Select the Enabled button.*
   
5. Apply.
   
6. OK.
   
7. Restart Windows.
   

That's it. It may seem strange to post the answer to the question I am asking. But I did a web search and found this thread on the Microsoft Community. The answers near the top of the thread did not get me close to a solution. I found this quick and correct answer on Tom's Guide. So I wanted to share it.
