Windows 10: How can I stop host process services from using my microphone?

I've tried all the methods here, but it still wont be fixed. The listen to this device is already unchecked. Earlier, when I turned off the access for the microphone in my device and turned it back on again, it doesn't use it anymore but then when I updated my computer and restarted it, it came back again. I need help.

Hello,

I have been having troubles with my Bluetooth headphones playing regular audio when selected stereo function vs. AG- Hands free. And I narrowed down the issue to being that a process is constantly using the microphone and so the audio is not out-putting. I figure this out because the only way to get the stereo function to work is to turn off all use of the microphones. I will attach screenshots.

Anyway, I noticed the Host Process for windows is always using the microphone... and so I am trying to figure out how to turn that off specially that without having to turn off the whole use of the microphone. Because I still need other things to be able to use the microphone when they turn on like zoom. Also, I went through and made sure all of Cortana is turned off, but maybe I am missing something in that part.

Hello vilaugra, welcome to the Microsoft community, I'll be happy to help you today;

I understand that the Windows Host Process uses your Microphone constantly;

Initially I suggest that you check if the option "Listen to my device" is activated;

Open the control panel and click on Hardware and Sound;

Click on Sound;

Click on the Recording tab;

Select your Default Microphone and click Properties;

Click the Listen tab;

Disable the option "Listen to this device";

Click Apply;

Restart your PC and check if the Windows Host Process still uses your microphone;
