Discus and support DirectX SDK June 2010 is stuck on Downloading Required Files in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; I am trying to install DirectX SDK for a an old project on Windows 11 PC and Windows Features window gets stuck on "Downloading required files". ~80%...     DirectX SDK June 2010 is stuck on Downloading Required Files


    I am trying to install DirectX SDK for a an old project on Windows 11 PC and Windows Features window gets stuck on "Downloading required files". ~80% The Microsoft DirectX SDK window says that it is Installing Micrososft .NET Framework v2.0. This may take coupe of minutes. Please wait. But it does not finish. I do not recall it ever taking this long or getting stuck during the installation/downloading in the past. My internet connection is not an issue. I also have enough disc space. After an hour It fails with error code 0x80D02002

    Can I uninstall Microsoft DirectX SDK (June 2010) from Windows 10?

    While installing a older game on my new computer with Windows 10, it installed Microsoft DirectX SDK (June 2010). That screwed up my computer. I could not uninstall it because it did not show up in Control Panel as an installed program, so I had to 'restore'
    to get back to normal.

    Now I just found a folder named 'Microsoft DirectX SDK (June 2010)' in C:/Program Files (x86) but it still is not showing in Control Panel as an installed program.

    • Does Windows 10 need this?
    • If it was by my game install then it should have been removed when I restored, right?
    • Can I just delete it or what?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Directx June 2010 released

    I honestly don't know what's new but there are June 2010 files included. The Feb 2010 has 146 files while the June 2010 has 157 files for reference. I count 14 June2010 specific files which include both x86 and x64 cabs. I will update this post if there is any information that specifies what this update actually improves on. These files are:
    -June 2010 Xact
    -June DX11
    -June DX10
    -June DX9
    and few others that are not obvious as to what they are.
