Windows 10: System Language Stuck in Hebrew After UUP Repair — Can't Switch to English Without Losing Apps

How This All Started: The original issue I had was that my Windows Update tab wasn't working — every time I opened it, I got an error. In trying to fix that, I followed advice to perform a UUP-based in-place repair install of Windows 11. I carefully downloaded a matching UUP english ISO for my build, but it said the language didnt match the current windows language even though my whole pc was in english, I then had to use a Hebrew language ISO, even though I normally use my system in English. After completing that install, not only did the Windows Update issue remain, but now my entire system

Microsoft no english language windows for you!

Wasn't an OEM copy though it was a promotional copy given to me for free. Anyhow don't you think it's odd that every language but English be on the list?!

I was able to download the Hebrew version just fine. Not a big deal to add the English language pack using the Nlite app. Thing is there was a time you could download these iso's from digital river but MS shut that down so now all we have are Torrents which is shady if you ask me.

 

Updated Twitter app changed language. Unable to return to English

I used the previous version of the twitter app on windows 10 without problems. My preferred language was English and so was the interface. After updating to the new version of the app, the app now has an interface in Hebrew and displays from right to left. I've done all I could think of to change it back to English and left-to-right direction but nothing works.

• The language selected in the app Settings is English.
• The Windows 10 display language is English
• I uninstalled and reinstalled several times, both through Apps and Features and PowerShell. The newly installed app immediately logs into my twitter account. Since I completely removed the app from the pc, where does the app take that login info from? Are there settings files hidden somewhere that control the way the app behaves and even override the in-app language settings?
• I even searched the registry for my login info but didn't find anything meaningful.
• I also tried changing locale in windows itself. It too didn't work.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I understand that it can be frustrating when the features don’t work the way they are supposed to. For further clarity on the issue and to guide you accordingly, respond to the questions listed below:

1. Have you installed Hebrew keyboard layout under English language?
   
2. What happens when you try to switch the language using Windows and spacebar key together?
   

I suggest you to try uninstalling and re-installing the Hebrew language and see if that helps.

1. Go to Settings > Time & Language >
   Region & Language.
   
2. Click on Hebrew
   and Click on Remove.
   

After removing the language pack, refer the article to Add
and switch input and display language preferences in Windows 10.
