Windows 10: How do I open Oxps files on my new laptop?

I've transferred files saved on my old desktop to my new laptop that I need to open. They are important files.

There are two ways (at least) to edit an .oxps file:

1- Open the file in Microsoft Word.

2- Open the file in a PDF editor.

My Name is Paul one of the Community Expert and a Windows User like you. Regarding the OXPS file extension yes you can open it as long as the XPS Viewer is active on your Windows 10 Machine if not follow these steps to enable the XPS Viewer app.

* Click Start and search and open Settings.

* Click and Open Apps and under APPS & Features Click OPTIONAL FEATURES and click ADD A FEATURE.

* SCROLL down and look for XPS VIEWER and install it.

How to open OXPS files created by Windows 8 in Windows 10?

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Open the old Control Panel, not the new Settings App

At the top right of the old Control Panel, set view to icons.

Open Programs an Features, then click 'Turn Windows Features on or off'.

In that list, you should see the Microsoft XPS Document Writer, turn that on, wait for the process to complete, then Restart (not shut down) your PC.

You should then be able to open OXPS files.
