    Moving the Screenshots folder

I am trying to move my Screenshots folder to my One Drive. Because I need quick access I want it at the top of my One Drive folders and tried using a folder named $aMyScreenshots. After I have set this as the target using the Properties/Location/Move/{select new file} /Apply option of the existing Screenshot folder my created folder disappears and a new folder named Screenshots appears in my One Drive folder tree.Co-Pilot says I can use any foldername and I have lots of folders with $%£ etc. at the start of the foldername as I use this to force a sorting order.Any pertinant advise gratefully a

    Problem with screenshots folder

    Win 11

I had moved and been using my screenshots folder on my D: drive.

But decided to move it back to my C: drive and have it as a subfolder in my Pictures folder.

I moved it by right click, properties , then the location tab.

Problem is it now saves screenshots in my Picture folder. And not in a subfolder in Pictures folder.

    Any suggestions

    Thanks

    Screenshots folder

Hello, welcome to Microsoft Answers Community.

Please follow these steps to change the directory of the Screenshots folder:

    1. Navigate to Pictures\ (The directory of the place where photos are stored.)
    2. If you have taken a screenshot at least once before, you should see the Screenshots folder.

    3. Right click on the folder and select "Properties" (or press Alt+Enter.)
    4. Select "Location" and edit the directory to where you want to save your screenshots.

    5. Click "Apply", Windows will move all the current screenshots to that directory (You will be prompted to create the folder if it does not exist) then "OK".
    6. From now on, when you take a screenshot, it will automatically save to the new directory.

This only works for the Windows Snipping Tool (snippingtool.exe) and some other third-party screenshot apps. Other applications might offer an option to customize save directory in its own settings.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
