Windows 10: Windows 11 shows a second user on login screen, but I never added another user.

Windows 11 shows a second user on login screen, but I never added another user. When I start my computer it shows me two users to log in with. My default windows account and second one the requires a username and a password. I thought it odd so I tried going to Settings, Accounts, Other Users, but nothing is showing up there. I even went to Run and went to netplwiz and no other user is listed.I can't find a way to remove this other user. I have the same issue but I have 11 users and now on the log in screen I have 11 user names and 11 of the "password" with the "key" next to them. So, that's 22 logins on the lock screen. The "password" logins are actually the users. I am trying to get rid
of the "password" tabs so only my user names show on the login screen. I checked for the registry folder you mentioned and it is not in the list.

Any other suggestions?

 

Want to DELETE second User Account at login

Hello, I'm using a Windows 10 PC and I am the only user. My administrator username is "John Doe".
Recently when I start the PC, I get 2 options for user login-"John Doe", where I click to enter my password and a second option to use a PIN, both have EXACT name "John Doe". The first option asks for a Password- it does not accept any PW I've associated with the account. When selecting the second option, the PIN box appears. I am then able to get to my desktop screen.

I want to do two things: 1) Delete the account that asks for the PW 2) Automatically login and go to my desktop screen. When I go to Control Panel user settings to delete it, there is only ONE account that shows. I've tried at least 6 solutions suggested, none have worked. Probably need step-by-step instructions. Thanks in advance.

Since the profile had problems loading, this can mean a corrupted account. I can show you how to make sure all accounts are shown on the Log-in screen, but you may just need to create the account over again - after deleting it if necessary.

Keep in mind that Family accounts are only for those using Family Safety parental restrictions. If you don't want those (which don't work that well in Windows BTW) then use the "Other" category to create the account.
