  1. Frustrated with Snipping Tool in Windows 11 – Any Workarounds?

I’ve been trying to work with the new Snipping Tool in Windows 11, and honestly, it’s been incredibly frustrating. I've said several curse words in the last few hours dealing with this intrusive issue. No matter how small I adjusted the window of my previous snip, the tool always resets and opens up at nearly full screen the next time... it doesn’t remember the last used snip size at all. This makes the process feel clunky and inefficient, especially when I’m working with small areas repeatedly. Is there a workaround to get it to remember the previous snip size or behave more intuitively?

    :)

  2. snipping tool

    Please try this:

    Step 1:

Click Start, and type Snipping Tool.

Right-click Snipping Tool from the search results, and click App Settings

    Click Reset,

    Click Repair.

Note: In Windows 11, there is no Snip and Sketch. It comes pre-installed with the new Snipping Tool (which replaces the old Snipping Tool and Snip & Sketch apps)

    Step 2:

Turn off Focus assist if it's enabled

    Step 3:

Open Services.msc and make sure that the following services are set to "Automatic" and running:

    • Windows Push Notifications System Service
    • Windows Push Notifications User Service

  3. Windows 11 - snipping tool not showing up after snipping - only on taskbar

    Hi jj5645,

It can be frustrating when the habits you used on Windows 10 no longer apply to Windows 11.

Snipping Tools is a built-in exe app in Windows 10, but in Windows 11, Snipping Tools has been redesigned as a UWP app and shipped to the Microsoft Store.

Therefore, in order to make Windows 11 even better, I suggest that you make this suggestion to Microsoft through the Feedback Center, and the development team may consider adding this feature back to the Snipping tools when many users have the same requirements.

    Best regards,
