Windows 10: Mapping Drive won't accept username and password

    Mapping Drive won't accept username and password


    My laptop wants username and password to connect to rest of my local network but keeps telling me "The username or password is incorrect." The only U/N and P/W I know are my MS U/N and P/W. Which I found out I have to go online to change.I'm running Win 11, ver. 24H2IMO this whole not signing in with a password is crazy. I currently have a 15 character password that I can remember and a 10 digit pin number, tell me which is more secure.

    After Windows 10 update, signin screen won`t accept my pssword.

    Sign-in screen won`t take my password after Windows 10 update on a new HP laptop. I had setup a pin login but now asks for Microsoft password which I wrote down and have used before but will not accept now.

    Mapped Drives Issues

    To clarify .... the issue is the Windows 10 OS. It is with Windows File Explorer. The Mapped drives used to appear in File Explorer's left panel list of drives and folders. Two days ago File explorer stopped show the mapped drives. so not they don;t appear in the list of Drives and folders.

    I did, it has no effect. I also check the NAS devices they support SMB 2.0. Also I have several other computers on my home network they work fine with the mapped drives and They do not have SMB 1 turned on. So it is something that happened to the computer in question.

    Why won't Windows Explorer accept my router username/password when attemting to map a network drive

    I have a hard drive attached to my router and have successfully mapped it in each iteration of Windows from XP to 10. It's always been an unnecessarily complicated and difficult process, involving internet searching, consulting web sites, tearing hair out
    etc, but through sheer determination and perseverance I've managed to do it.

    Until now.

    And all I did was reset the router and change it's password while I was at it. But Windows will not accept the new username/password.

    So I re-enabled SAMBA in the router. Still no go.

    So I uninstalled the drive and tried to remap it. Still no go. So I tried using a different drive letter, still no go. I've also tried prefixing the username with WORKGROUP\ but still no go.

    It's not just me, a good proportion of internet is devoted to this problem.

    Please, Microsoft, fix this problem.
