Windows 10: Trying to reinstall windows 11 on a computer that I wiped clean, but when I try to boot...

A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.2. Choose your language settings, then click "Next."3. Click "Repair your computer."If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer

Windows 11 - 10 boot options or clean wipe

Hello everyone,

As I'm new to the PC Master Race, I have some questions.

I've recently built my PC and it's my first ever upgrade of everything as I've bought a pre-built PC back in 2017... Literally everything is brand new now.

I have fully and clean installed windows 11 (bought key) on my HDD. Later I've put my SSD on that had Windows 10 and all my personal files that i didn't want to lose. My PC only boots from the SSD resulting having Windows 10 on my PC which I don't want. I cannot boot from HDD anymore unless I take off the SSD (there is no option).

Is there anyway to fix it? Any other suggestions?

I'm quite happy with Windows 10 don't get me wrong.

If I clean wipe my HDD will the windows 11 be wiped as well? I was thinking of clearing my HDD and be back to Windows 10 by normally booting from the SSD.

Sorry if something from what I'm saying doesn't make sense. First time building and even though I've done some research I am absolutely lost..

To understand the issue better, please provide us more information.

  What is the make and model of the computer?
  
• Did you try installing Windows 10 using Windows 10 ISO DVD?

The issue you are facing could be due to the installation media is being corrupt. Let’s try simple steps and check if this helps in resolving the issue. Follow the below step.

Step 1.

I suggest you to copy all USB content files on a blank DVD/CD and try installing it from it.

If the issue still persist, try the below step.

Step 2.

I recommend you to go to the below link and create media installation and install Windows 10.

Download Windows 10

Once you complete creating media. Insert the Windows installation DVD in the DVD ROM and restart your computer.

Cannot boot or reinstall windows, or wipe drive

Please try to use Diskpart to wipe the Disk drive. Refer to the steps below.

1. During the Windows 10 setup, press Shift + F10 keyboard shortcut to open Command Prompt.

2. When Command Prompt opens, enter diskpart and press Enter.

3. Now enter list disk and press Enter.

A list of all available hard drives will appear. You need to select the disk that you want to wipe.

4. Enter select disk 0 and press Enter.

5. Enter clean and press Enter.

6. Optional: Use convert gtp or convert mbr command to convert your drive to the desired type.

7. Enter exit and press Enter.

Close Command Prompt and try to install Windows 10 again.
