Windows 10: Why have I lost my wifi tab and can't unistall/update my wifi drivers.

I've tried literally everything I can and could've done to try and fix my drivers to get my wifi to work, my wifi driver has the error code: 10 or 43. I've tried to get the power tab to switch it off even tho I'm on pc and I literally cannot get it to work, I've tried to factory reset my pc and I couldn't even use login because it was asking for my wifi drivers. I can't unistall my drivers as when I reset my pc the wifi driver comes back, I've tried to download the newest version of the drivers and even that wouldn't work, any help or anything will do to get my wifi to work again, thanks. Missing WiFi tab

• Do you remember making any software or hardware related changes to your device and router before this issue happened?

No, I didn't made any hardware changes nor did I installed any software.

• Were you able to connect to your other devices aside from the laptop?

Yes

• Are you getting any sort of error messages? If so, can you tell us these errors.

No, I am not getting any error messages.

• To make sure we haven't missed on anything, can you specify to us the troubleshooting steps that you have tried to resolve the issue?

I just did the Network Troubleshooting which shows no error but gives a message to 'Plug an Ethernet cable' (as only Ethernet is left under network connections tab).

I also tried uninstalling Wifi driver under device manager but there was no Wifi driver (Intel dualband 3160-AC). Then I downloaded the wifi driver but while installing it gives a message that 'This installation could not be made'. (I made sure that
the driver was compatible before installing)

Update: When I turned ON my laptop today, I found that the WiFi came back under Network Connections but was disabled. So, I enabled it and then my WiFi was working fine. But when again I switched ON my laptop after few hours, the WiFi tab was missing.
I don't know how did this happened now and not before during previous startups of my system.

 

Wifi names

I was wondering can you put anything as a wifi name for example I wanted to put CIA-outpost-#### random number is that illegal? I've seen FBI surveillance van 006 before on my list of wifi names I can pick up.

Try updating the drivers and check if the issue persists.

I suggest you to follow the steps below to update the Wifi drivers.

• Press Windows + X key on the keyboard.
• Select the device manager.
• Right-click your Wireless/Wi-Fi devices.
• Click Update Driver Software and then follow the steps in the wizard that appears.
• Restart the machine and check if the issue persists.
