  1. Windows 11 Notepad 'Recent' Jump List: "The item you selected is unavailable. "

Hello,In Windows 11 I have the Notepad app pinned to the taskbar. When I right-click it, it shows the list of recently opened Notepad files. However, if I left click any of these files to open them, I receive the following error message: "The item that you selected is unavailable. It might have been moved, renamed or removed. Do you want to remove it from the list?". This happens regardless of where I save the file, whether locally or on OneDrive. If I right click the file from the list and then left click 'Open', it works. How do I fix this?It is worth noting that this problem has also existed

    :)

  2. Jump list issue

I recently upgraded from windows 10 to windows 11. On Windows 10, under on my task bar I had one file pinned to the excel jump list. However, after I upgraded, the files seems to be permanently in the jump list. When I click on it, I get the message “The item you have selected is unavailable. It might have been moved, renamed or removed. Do you want to remove it from the list?“ It then gives two option to either cancel or delete. Deleting does not work, I tried to reset the laptop and nothing. I've right clicked to unpin and no action is taken either, it's persistently staying in the jump list. Any suggestions?

    cannot turn off jump list

    Hi Rohit,

To address this concern, we suggest that you follow these steps on how to turn off the Jump Lists on Windows 10:

    • Go to Start menu, search Settings, then press
      Enter.
    • Click Personalization.
    • Select Start.
    • Turn off the Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on Start or taskbar.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards.

  4. Windows 11 Notepad 'Recent' Jump List: "The item you selected is unavailable. "

    Increase recent items list

I would like to increase the size of the recent items list. I find this recommendation in several p0laces:

Note: By default 10 most recent items are shown in Jump List for any application. You can however, change the number from default 10 to something else.
How to change the number of recent items to display in Jump Lists using Registry edit:
Press Windows + R keys, type in regedit and press Enter.
    Navigate to:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
In the right pane double click on the Start_JumpListItems to modify it.
    Enter a number between 0 to 60.
    Restart the computer.

However I have done that and the recent items list stays at 15. How can I increase it?
