Windows 10: Voice Access voice commands are a lot worse after the update

Anyone else having this problem? When I try to give commands, it keeps putting random full stops between words or numbers, which borks the ability to give the command. e.g. l say "Show numbers" and it shows me the numbers. The thing I need to click is number 109, but no matter what way I say - whether as "one hundred and nine" or "one zero nine" - because it puts a full stop after the 10, Voice Access reads that as me wanting to click on 10 and it clicks that instead of 109. Or depending on where it puts the full stop, it just won't be able to execute any kind of command at all, and will just

Create an Alias for Voice Access

Hello,

I’ve recently started using Voice Access and I find it useful. Can users create an alias for it?

According to Microsoft Support Topics, Voice access command list - Microsoft Support, the only way to activate and manage Voice Access is by calling “Voice Access”.

I’d like to create an alias to call “Voice Access” as either “Cortana” or “Copilot”. Is this possible?

Sorry but I must be stupid. I have gone into the settings, voice commands, clicked options but I do not have a remove all in that list. List only shows open, settings, voice command tutorial, help, exit in the listing.

If I open a voice command subsetting and then open options I get change command, playback, settings, voice command tutorial, help and exit.

any help would be gratefully received.

 

Voice Access for offline use

You can use Voice Access on Windows 11 offline. According to Microsoft Support, Voice Access is a new feature in Windows 11 that enables everyone, including people with mobility disabilities, to control their PC and author text using only their voice and without an internet connection.

Here’s how you can set it up:

1. Launch Voice Access from Settings: In the Start menu, select Settings > Accessibility > Speech. Turn on the Voice access switch.
   
2. Start Voice Access from Windows search: Open Windows search and type voice access. Select Open to start voice access.
   

When you turn on Voice Access for the first time, you are prompted to download voice access language files to be used by on-device speech recognition. Once the language files have been downloaded, voice access works regardless of your internet connection status.

Note: You may still need the Internet to download the corresponding language files when setting up for the first time. After the download is complete, you can use it offline.
