Windows 10: I am trying to restore from Backup and Restore Windows 7 using windows 11 Pro.

I am using Windows 11 Pro 24H2 on a Dell 7780. I have 2 backups, June 26 and June 27. I have been able to restore the June 27 backup but I cannot restore the June 26 backup even when I switch to the earlier date. This earlier backup contains 330 zip files and there is no way I can restore them one by one. The file history restore points appear to be gone, so I cannot restore that way. Some help, please.

System restore is handy when it works like it did for me 2 days ago saving the need to reinstall all of my software as well as windows, id suggest using norton Ghost 12 for an excellent system restore feature.

Haven't used it but sounds like it based on Backup and Restore Center info found here. Says you can choose what files and folders if you want and also mentions a system image. Quicken has it's own backup option under one of the menus, use that too. I have for my mom and it's a breeze. Just reinstall app and use Restore in Quicken.

And please note, "Rottweiler guesses that Backup and Restore (Windows 7) will remain in Windows until upgrades from Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 are no longer permitted" statement is not based on facts.

Backup and Restore (Windows 7) function was removed and discontinued in Windows 8. The Control Panel applet used by Backup and Restore was renamed to Windows 7 File Recovery.

But this function re-appeared in Windows 8.1 with a same name and can be found in Control Panel even in latest Windows 11 builds and is fully functional and supported.

However Microsoft hides this applet in Windows 11 and suggests to use online backup to OneDrive.
