How upgrade and downgrade windows server r2 datacenter 64 bit

Hi we are resseler company.

And our customer was bought Windows server standart edition (in VLMS he have windows server 2012 standart edition with ISO download link and key).

Now it uses windows server2008 r2 datacenter 64bit, how do we install(upgrade or downgrade) windows server 2012 standard without losing settings? Including AD, DHCP, applications?

 

Windows Datacenter or Windows Standard version on VMs

Yes that statement is true because Datacenter comes with unlimited VM licenses where Standard only has 2 VM licenses.

So the host server would be best as Datacenter for the unlimited VM licenses.

But when it comes to building VMs on the host server you can use either.

But it is cheaper to have the VMs as Standard to license.

Downgrade of Microsoft SQL server standard to SQL server standard

Am running SQL server standard edition 2016 on my ERP production environment.

I would like to get a redundant high availability server and the license am getting since we are a not for profit org is as shown below.

1. SQLSvrStd 2019 SNGL OLP NL Chrty, SQLCAL 2019 SNGL OLP NL Chrty UsrCAL

Will these (bullet 1. ) work for my mirror server? or can it be converted/downgraded to 2016 sql server standard.
