Windows 10 upgrade remove software

Hi Martin,

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community. I understand the inconvenience you are facing. I will certainly help you with this.

Upgrading Windows doesn’t removes the previously installed software. This issue may arise due to incompatibility of the software with Windows 10. I suggest you to search the software data in Windows.old folder.

You may try re-installing the software in Windows 10 with compatibility mode and check if it works.
I suggest you to try compatibility mode for installation of program and check if it helps. To do so kindly follow the below given steps:

• Right click on program setup that you have downloaded.
  
• Click/tap on Properties.
• Check the Run this program in Compatibility mode for under
  Compatibility tab
• Select Windows 8.1/8/7/XP from the drop down under
  Compatibility mode section.
• Click on Apply and Ok.
• Install the program, restart PC.

I just came across this today. I thought I'd share it:

It then checks if your version is up to date
It creates a list with what is up to date, and what needs updating
It provides a direct link on the software that needs updating to a download site.

Benefits
Quick and easy way of checking your programs and utilities
And updating them
It can export the list to txt and excel
Very useful for creating an AUDIT of what you've got installed

Careful
If you install, install using custom options and REMOVE all the crapware
When running the program and clicking links, click the correct download link to your software, not a link to crapware
