Windows 11 will soon let you access Notifications on multiple monitors

Windows 11 is getting a feature that users have been requesting for a long time. You will soon be able to access your notifications across multiple monitors.

Microsoft first added support for displaying the taskbar on all monitors nearly 4 years ago. Then it made the clock and date available across all screens. But, the system tray has remained exclusive to the primary display. Some third-party tools have allowed using the system tray on all monitors.

It's rather odd that such a basic feature has not been available for so long, I mean that is one of the key areas where you interact with the operating system, i.e. tray apps, notifications, network/Bluetooth etc. Well, it's better late than never to have a native option for accessing these options in a multi-monitor environment.

In addition to that, Microsoft is also testing an option to show a bigger clock in the Calendar panel that appears when you click on the Date/Time in the System Tray. The new design will display a larger clock with seconds. This is not a new feature, it is available on Windows 10, but was removed from Windows 11. The notifications panel will be displayed when you click on the date/time.

On a side note, Microsoft is now rolling out its AI Agent in Settings for AMD and Intel-powered Copilot+ PCs. This feature was previously only available on Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs. Windows Search will display a new grid view of images that were related to your query.

Task Manager is getting a new optional column in the Details tab, it's called CPU Utility, and is not enabled by default. That's because Windows changed how Task Manager calculates CPU utilization for the Processes, Performance, and Users pages. It uses standard metrics to display the CPU workload across all pages consistently. The new option is being added for backward compatibility. This feature was originally announced in February, but later disabled due to bugs. Microsoft says it is rolling out the CPU Utility column again, because the bugs have been patched.

Microsoft is currently testing the changes in Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26200.5722 that is available for Dev Channel users. It may take a while before these features are brought over to the stable channel.

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:

    1. What is the make and model number of your PC?
    2. What kind of cable do you use to connect the monitors?
    3. Are you aware of any recent changes on the PC prior to this issue?
Meanwhile, I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

Update or reinstall the mouse drivers from Mice and other pointing devices section in device manager

    Update drivers in Windows (microsoft.com)

Once done, try to re-arrange the monitors and check if the issue persists

If the issue persists, I would also suggest you to create a new user account with administrative rights and check if the issue persists. Creating a new user account will not remove any data, app or settings from your current user account, this is just a troubleshooting step to eliminate the possibility of user profile corruption.
