  3. Turn 'Word Wrap' off default in Notepad

I can repro the issue. Notepad doesn't seem to query the "word wrap" setting. This may have happened after the KB5022913 update, I think. Please report this in the FBH. Until this gets fixed, you can switch to classic Notepad using these steps:

    1. Open Settings → Apps.
    2. Expand “More settings” and click “App execution aliases.”
    3. Disable the “Notepad” alias by turning off the radio button.

Enhancements for AI-Driven Interfaces in Microsoft Windows

    Dear Microsoft Team,

As an experienced developer with a three-decade-long career, I am deeply committed to the advancement of artificial intelligence in user interfaces. My extensive contemplation on integrating AI technologies within the Microsoft Windows environment has led me to this proposal.

The vision I propose, though ambitious, is inspired by the 'Holodeck' concept from Star Trek, symbolizing seamless interaction between users and technology. While this vision may be a longer-term goal, I believe there are several strategic enhancements Microsoft can implement in the near term to make significant strides:

    1. Enhanced Metadata for Application Controls: Implement searchable metadata for each control to allow applications to define and articulate the purpose and interaction mechanisms of controls to the AI, with unique identifiers for each control to aid in automated testing and interactions.
    2. Centralized Control Data Store at Application Level: Create a centralized repository for all application controls, enabling both the OS and applications to interact with and utilize these controls effectively.
    3. Context-Aware Intelligent Toolbars: Develop adaptive toolbars that respond to the user's current context, displaying only the relevant tools. Users should be empowered to customize these toolbars to dictate which controls appear in given contexts.
    4. Direct Access to Large Language Models (LLMs): Integrate built-in OS support for LLMs, allowing users to directly employ advanced AI capabilities within their operating environment.
    5. AI-Enhanced XAML: Update XAML to accommodate AI metadata specifications, enabling a seamless transition between traditional and AI-driven interfaces based on user preference and system capabilities.
    6. Advanced Docking Support for AI: Enhance the AI's ability to autonomously design and populate user interfaces with the requisite tools and controls, using XAML as a guide and adhering to user-specified preferences for optimal workflow efficiency.
    7. Contextual Help and Support: Integrate intelligent, context-sensitive help systems that offer immediate assistance and guidance based on the user's current task or challenge, including dynamic tooltips, help panels, or interactive guides.
    8. Intelligent Message Boxes / Voice Messages: Implement a system allowing applications to post progress data to a data store, which can be used in AI-generated messages for errors or informational purposes. This would facilitate more helpful and interactive message boxes, allowing users to query the program’s data store for detailed information to better understand issues and find solutions.
    9. Multi-application Awareness: As we move closer to the ‘Holodeck’ model, it is anticipated that applications will evolve from being comprehensive solutions to functioning more as modular sets of instructions tailored to specific work contexts. Accordingly, it is imperative for the operating system to possess the capability to query the control repositories of installed applications efficiently. This functionality should enable the OS to initiate, engage with, and manage those applications as necessary to effectively fulfill user requests. This approach not only streamlines the user experience, but also enhances the system’s responsiveness, and adaptability to diverse user needs.
These proposed enhancements are designed to revolutionize user interaction with Windows, making it more intuitive, efficient, and seamlessly integrated with AI. I am confident that by embracing these changes, Microsoft will significantly advance the computing experience, establishing a new benchmark for AI-driven applications.
