  2. OpenGL Drivers

    Hi Ayden -

This is Orlando, an Independent advisor and an expert with Windows 10. I understand that you can't play the game that you purchase without having OpenGL 3.2 above on your computer.

OpenGL, short for Open Graphics Library, is the standard 3D Graphics API and is often required in some games or software. It will provide these programs with graphics and images. It is worth noting that OpenGL aims to communicate with the GPU (Graphics Processing
Unit) so as to improve the performance of the hardware.

It is said that if not updating the OpenGL drivers, your PC will automatically set the OpenGL to its default version, namely, OpenGL 1.1. In this way, there is a high probability that you can’t enjoy the maximized gaming experience.

While in order to get the OpenGL drivers updated, you need only update the display driver as OpenGL driver will come along with the driver you download. For instance, if you are using Intel HD graphics card, try to update the Intel driver so as to get the latest
    OpenGL driver installed.

You can try the method below to update the OpenGL on your computer:

Method 1: Update your graphics driver manually

    1. Navigate to your graphics card manufacturer official website. (Intel, AMD or NVIDIA)

    2. On the official site, navigate to the graphics driver and choose your operating system. Download the latest drivers for your graphics card and install it to your computer. This will also update the OpenGL on your computer.

Method 2:Update OpenGL Driver in Device Manager

Otherwise, it makes sense to get the OpenGL driver from the graphics driver within Windows 10. That is to say, you can attempt to let Windows device manager find the driver you need.

    1. Open Device Manager.

    2. Expand Display adapters and then right click the graphics driver to Update driver. Here your display card may be AMD, Intel, or NVIDIA or any other ones with different brands.

    3. Try to Search automatically for the updated driver software.

If possible, the Device Manager will locate the latest graphics driver for you. You can install it on Windows 10 in the hope that the OpenGL driver can be updated.

Hope this helps, have a good day.

    Thanks,

    Independent Advisor

  3. OpenGL Update

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Provide the below information to understand better.

    1) Did you get any error message to update to OpenGL 2.0?

    2) what is the make and model of your PC?

I would like to inform you that OpenGL is already installed on . Hoyour computerwever, you should go to video card manufacturer's website to make sure you have the latest drivers for OpenGL installed. All video card manufacturers make their own OpenGL drivers.

If you have a newer computer, you probablyhav already e the hardware (video card) that you need. Most video cards work with OpenGL. Check the information that came with your video card or go to the card manufacturer's website to make sure your card is compatible
with the latest version of OpenGL. In addition to making sure that your video card works with OpenGL, you should make sure that your video card drivers are up to date. Go to the video card manufacturer's website to make sure you have the latest drivers for
OpenGL. All video card manufacturers make their own OpenGL drivers.

If you have any other queries with Windows 10, feel free to contact us again.

    Thank you.

  4. This program requires a graphics card and video drivers which support OpenGL 2.1 or OpenGL ES 2

    OpenGL

    • it wasnt an error message, it was a log for one of my games that require OpenGl, and it said that the wglGraphicsWindow wouldnt open, and on the games website, it says that that means that OpenGl isnt supported on my graphics driver. So then i used a OpenGL
viewer, and it said OpenGL 1.1 was supported on my graphics driver

    • yes, i have checked the manufacturers website for updates, but they discontinued the devices drivers.

•yes, i checked windows update for updated drivers, but didnt locate any.
