April Update Public User and Controlled Folder Access

Since installing the April Update I'm having a problem with the Public User on my system. I have four users - an administrative user, a standard user, the default user, and the public user. I generally use the public user for information that I would like to access from either the Administrative or the Standard User. Never had a problem until now. One other piece of info - I've been using Controlled Folder Access since it was introduced and have had no problems other than having to occasionally give access privileges to a new application.

Now, since the April Update, I either am not permitted to save a file to the public area or need to enter the administrative user password before the save is completed. Also, if I try to copy a file from the standard user to the public user, it says the file no longer exists in the standard user (really weird). Trying to copy and paste the file to another folder within the standard user works with no problem. Something has really screwed up usage of the public folder. Anyone else experience this?

    :)

Windows 7 Exchange and Public Folder access.

Is there a way to have a public shared calendar folder sync to the individual personal calendars of the people who have access to and share the public shared calendar folder. This would give the smartphones of the individual users access to the same data
which is in the public calendar folder but it would be via access to their personal individual calendar folder. Thanks.

  3. Public folders disappear after upgrade from Windows 7 to 10

This is an irrelevant answer. The public folders are still present just not listed in File Explorer. I confirmed that by opening a Word file I had kept on a public folder. The only way I have found of getting them to appear in File Explorer is to access:-
This PC/OS(CApril Update Public User and Controlled Folder Access :)/Users/Public and then pin Public to the Quick Access list.

Surely there must be a better way than this? Public folders should be there by default as in Windows 7.
