We got an error message as attached picture after preload WIN10 RS4 CN image in production line. The error was happened after done "PBR" in windows and during OOBE process running. The failure rate is not solid, about 40% failure rate.

When the error happened, if choose skip and continue OOBE for booting to windows, the windows will abnormal (some component lost, wallpaper, windows edge..)

When the error happened, if force shutdown by press power button, then power on again to complete OOBE process for booting to windows, windows is working fine without any component lost. After that, if we do windows update and do PBR again, it won't meet error during OOBE process any more.

We have found 4 component be installed after done windows update. (KB4464218,KB4100347,KB4456655,Security update for adobe flash player).

After further narrow down, we found the problem won't happened any more if KB4464218 be installed in windows.

My customer LENOVO want to know why the problem can be fixed by KB4464218? what kind of issue be fixed by KB4464218?

    Steps to repro:

    1. Prepare Lenovo V310-IKB(LV6A) test machine and preload WIN10 RS4 CN image (Simple Chinese Language)

    2. After preload image done, to complete OOBE process and boot to windows

    3. After booting to windows, do PBR (Push Button Reset).

    4. After done PBR, it will do OOBE process again.

    5. During OOBE process, it Occurs "Something went wrong" error message as attached picture

    6. Choose “skip” in error UI and finish OOBE for booting to OS, but found some component lost. EX: wallpaper and Microsoft Edge

    7. If force shutdown by press power button and power on again @step5, the OOBE will continue and booting to windows without any component lost or error happened.

    Expected results:
    -OOBE should be normal
    Actual results:
-Occurs "Something went wrong" error message during OOBE

    :)

  3. Windows Update Error Message 0x80070543

Ya Ya Ya, there's over a hundred threads like this, ...

Anyway, started getting this error message a few days ago, and done a lot of searching on this error message, apparently it's not, uncommon.

In particular, the (currently) 4 updates that are being affected are:
    • Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3173428) - Error 0x80070543
    • Security Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3172729) - Error 0x80070543
    • Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3174060) - Error 0x80070543
    • Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 (KB3176493) - Error 0x80070543

The actions I've taken to date are:
    1. Uninstalled firewall program (comodo)
    2. Uninstalled anti-virus (Avast)
    3. Reset the windows update catalog on local machine.

So the above errors are with the above done.

What other steps should I be taking to resolve the issue?

Below is notations for when I actually add to this thread.

    1. Attempted to use the troubleshooter, no dice.
