Windows 10: How to fix bad audio after Windows 10 update 1803

For a while, Microsoft has been forcing me to update to version 1803, the April update. Every time they do, I revert. My audio quality is terrible after it, and my microphone sounds just as bad. I have not been able to block the update with the windows update hider tool. 1803 has been installing more and more often now, almost every week. I am getting tired of having to spend three hours installing and uninstalling an update that breaks my computer because I can't choose to block it. I have accepted, at this point, that Microsoft does not care about users' experiences or preferences, and will install the update for good. But how can I prevent it from ruining my audio? Especially since I ordered an expensive pair of headphones a couple days ago, now to have their premium sound ruined by a broken update.

I'm scratching my head then, because so far every computer I update to 1803, even fresh installs, can no longer read the details of mkv files. But at least icaros fixes the problem for now. Hopefully the bug is fixed in Windows natively eventually.

 

Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.
