    I have the same issue. The IMAP Folder list of Folders does not include a "Delete", "Deleted Items" or a "Trash" folder. However, there is a "Trash" folder showing within our Gmail account. The current "issue" is that Outlook is freezing, screen going white and a message of "Outlook not responding". The Gmail folders have been emptied but I cannot determine if there are still large amounts of data, which need to be delete via Outlook.


    Why did Microsoft remove an item as simple as a "Trash" folder in the first place? Yes, I have read all of the information available and no, nothing has worked to correct the problem. I have updated, restarted my computer and nothing changes. Even the "Junk/Spam" folder is only available via Gmail. What about Outlook?

    Delete mails in Outlook but want to keep mails untouch in webmail

    When I deleted an email in outlook and my webmail got deleted too. I want to keep all the inbox mails from the webmail even I complete deleted in outlook. I spend hrs can't think it out how. Any step by step instruction? I'm using IMAP account btw. Thanks and Merry Christmas.

    Change from IMAP to POP3, if supported by the email server, and make sure that "Leave a copy of messages on the server" is checked.

    Otherwise, I wonder if changing where delete items goes, and unsubscribing the folder will work?

    Example is with Gmail and it's All Mail folder, but if not, can create a folder for the the same purpose.

    Outlook 2016 - How to Select Default Folders?


    Outlook 2016 insists on creating a Trash folder in my IMAP accounts and moving deleted items there. I want to use another folder for deleted items. It was possible to specify the folders to use for Sent and Deleted items in Outlook 2010 but I can't find how to do this in Outlook 2016.

    If possible, how do I define the mail folders for deleted and sent items in Outlook 2016?
