Opening AOL desktop in Windows 10

I recently was auto updated to windows 10 on my laptop. (July 1, 2016) Its been, needless to a say, a bit off putting, frustrating and time consuming getting it all to work. I even spent 2 hours in the Microsoft flagship store on 5th ave in NYC...they
were clueless and are no match to the help you get at the Apple genius bar ! I had trouble syncing emails then....I eventually got my emails to sync myself...don't ask me what I did...but I got them to sync 2 weeks after the update to 10.

Things have been going fine until this week (now aug. 6) when all of a sudden, I can no longer open AOL Desktop software ! I believe I have 9.8 installed. I did a recovery to an earlier date when AOL was working...and it worked for 2 days. I am now again,
unable to open AOL desktop.

HELP anyone? I'm afraid to uninstall AOL and re-install because I saw some posts that some are having trouble installing it back.

 

The print and email icons are missing next to the minimize and maximize buttons (AOL Desktop Gold)

To set AOL Desktop Gold as your default browser and/or email client follow the steps below:

• Open AOL Desktop Gold.
• Log in using your username and password.
• Click on Settings.
  
  
  
• On the General tab click on the Make Default buttons to make AOL Desktop your default browser and/or email client.
  
  
  
• A new window opens up. From the Default apps tab go to the
  Web Browser or to the Email section and select AOL Desktop Gold from the drop-down menu.
  
  
  
• That's it! AOL Desktop Gold is now your default browser and/or email client.
