Windows 10: Lost 'View' of files since 1809 upgrade

Since last update (1809) I have lost any "view" of drives and files except 'General' in File Explorer.
If I try to change the view to Music or Documents, Pictures or Videos, it just goes back to General.

Is there a setting anywhere that will correct this?

File selection lost continuously

  Are you trying to access detail pane under view tab or right click on the file and select properties and details?
  
• 
  What are the steps you have followed to open the details view?
  

I would suggest you open the folder which contains PDF files and click on view and check details pane and check if you are able to get the details view.

windows 10 force upgrade! stuck at welcome screen and lost all files after upgrade.

Are you able to log into computer?

This issue might have occurred because of upgrade file corruption. Follow the steps below and check.

I suggest you to create a Windows 10 installation media and perform a Startup Repair on the device and check if it helps to resolve the issue.
This is an alternate way to boot the device and run recovery tools when something goes wrong with the Operating system.

Please follow the steps below to do Startup repair:

Steps:-

          Insert the installation USB drive
          and boot Windows 10 from it.
          
          If you don't have one, you can Create an installation Media.
          
        • 
          In the ‘Windows setup’ page select the ‘language to install’, ‘Time and currency format’
          and the ‘keyboard or input method’ and click on ‘next’.
          
        • 
          Click on ‘Repair your computer’ and select ‘Troubleshoot’.
          
        • 
          Click on ‘Advanced options’ and select ‘Startup Repair’
          and select the operating system.

when to upgrade to 1809

Microsoft:

I've read that 1809 will be coming out very soon. What I want to know is when should I go up to 1809? When it comes out or should I wait to upgrade later?
