Windows 10: What is a WEP key and where can I find it?

I printed something... and next to WEP Key Length is printer 'inactive'. I tried to enter that but it said it was not correct. At another point it asked for a WPS number which I couldn't find either; but, now I don't even know where that was. I am trying to connect a Canon Pixma MX492 and don't care if it's wireless, with a USB connection, or not. I've been trying just USB connection but it keeps saying the MP Drivers are not installing and I can't find out how to do that anywhere. Any assistance would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Wireless WEP key

To answer your 1st question:

Go to Menu>Tools>Settings>Connection>Access Points>{choose AP}>WLAN security settings>WEP key settings>WEP encryption>128 bits>Ok>WEP key format>Hexadecimal>Ok>WEP key>{enter your 26 digit WEP key}

The idea is to make your phone capable of 128 bits Hexadecimal encryption. Then you can enter your 26 digit code.

To answer your 2nd question:

You can not enter your username and password as WEP or WPA key. Your WLAN may let you open a specific web page in your browser and then ask for username and password for authentication. I suggest ask other students or your network administrator to guide your
through this.

WEP Key

Hi, I have a 9500 and I am having problems with the wep key code, I have a BT home hub and when I input the WEP key from the hub I get a message saying "illegal " characters in Wep key data. Please help

 

WEP Encryption Completely Broken

i use a mac access list on my router,no wep or nothing.if the persons mac addy aint on my routers list.......goodbye.
