  1. Can I create file permissions that carry over when I move the file to another (Android) system?

    Hi all!

I have a number of documents (PDFs and MP3s) that I need to copy from my Windows 10 laptop to an Android tablet. However, once they are on the tablet, I want it to be set that they cannot be deleted from the tablet, unless connected to a laptop (not by selecting the 'delete' option on the tablet).

Does anyone know how I might be able to do this? Can I set up file permissions in Windows that will carry over even into a different system?

    Thanks in advance!

    :)

  2. cannot access file/or permissions

I have a file i need to run on Windows 7 Home Premium. I get the error message saying "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

So I right click and choose Properties to access the permissions but I cannot. In the Security tab I get a message saying, " You do not have permission to view or edit this objects permission settings.".

Next I boot into the Windows 7 Hidden Administrator Mode - and even with this I get all the same error messages.

Please help me as I really need to run This file.

  3. How to Customize File Sharing Permissions to Create/Modify/Delete FILES... but not FOLDERS?

Hello. I need to customize a shared folder on my network so that one user (Reba) can create, append, modify, delete all FILES within that folder and subfolders... but Reba should not be able to create or delete the FOLDERS.

I've tested various configurations, and the closest I've been able to come is to create
TWO sets of Advanced permissions for Reba:

    1. The first instance of Reba, is ALLOWED, applied to "This folders and subfolders,"

    • Traverse folder / execute file
    • List folder / read data
    • Read attributes
    • Read extended attributes
    • Create files / write data
    • Write attributes
    • Write extended attributes
    • Delete subfolders and files
    • Read permissions
But Reba is DENIED permissions of:

    • Full control
    • Create folders / append data
    • Delete
    • Change permissions
    • Take ownership

    2. The second instance of Reba, is ALLOWED, applied to "Files Only:"

    • Traverse folder / execute file
    • List folder / read data
    • Read attributes
    • Read extended attributes
    • Create files / write data
    • Create folders / append data
    • Write attributes
    • Write extended attributes
    • Delete subfolders and files
    • Delete
    • Read permissions
But Reba is DENIED permissions of:

    • Full control
    • Change permissions
    • Take ownership

The above configuration does deny Reba the ability to create folders/subfolders... but ALLOWs her to delete folders (which I do NOT want her to be able to do).
