  1. Wireless Adapter MASSIVE issues

    Dear all,

I have had an HP Pavilion Gaming Notebook since 2016.

I have had problems with the wireless adapter before, but nothing that the troubleshooter couldn't fix. The signal icon would suddenly show "no internet connection", and then the troubleshooter would reset the network adapter to fix the problem.

However, for the past week, I've been having connection issues that are much more problematic. The computer disconnects from the wifi much more frequently, the troubleshooter rarely fixes the problem (sometimes I have to restart the entire system), and even if it does fix the issue the download speed is unacceptably slow (less than 1mps). My other devices have speeds upwards of 25mps in this network, so I'm sure its a problem with the computer, not the router or the Internet Provider.

I don't recall having done anything different recently. It basically started when I moved to a new country. I've been using the computer in a coworking space (a lot of people connecting to the same network). I asked the IT department, and they told me that my computer's 2.4GHz adapter isn't suited for large public networks, but that it should still be able to reach speeds of 10mps in this network without issue.

    Grateful for any advice!

    Thank you,

    Tomas S

    :)
