    Microsoft.SqlServer.Compact.400.64.bc file in ProgramData


    Microsoft.SqlServer.Compact.400.64.bc gets created in ProgramData folder at every restart (even if it is deleted).

    I am using Xampp, MySql and I have Microsoft SQL Server installed on my computer.

    Apparently, this file keeps track of private deployments, which I don't understand what they are.

    Neither Xampp nor MySql are in my Startup Programs, so this file gets created at every restart without any program getting opened.

    Does this file, gets created on anyone's computer, who are using MySql or another SQL related program?
    What are private deployments and who is keeping track of what?
    I don't really know if I have any on my computer.

    ProgramData-filder backup

    Hi,

    The ProgramData folder is usually located in the C: drive of your device. To locate the ProgramData folder, you can perform the following:

    • In File Explorer, click on the View tab.
    • Click on Options.
    • In the Folder Options window, click on the View tab.
    • Under the Hidden files and folders, select Show hidden files, folders, or drives.
    • Click on Apply.
    • Click on OK.

    Let us know how it goes after you've performed the steps.

    SQL Compact 4.0 support in Windows 10

    I haven't found any information like:

    "SQL Compact 4.0 is supported in Windows 10"

    or

    "SQL Compact 4.0 is NOT supported in Windows 10"

    I have found similar questions:

    Is Microsoft SQL CE database supported in Windows 10?

    Is Microsoft SQL CE database supported in Windows 10?

    Is Microsoft SQL CE database supported in Windows 10?

    But there is only information that SQL Compact 4.0 is supported in Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, and Windows 2012 environments.

    Also, someone has mentioned following: "As this component came out before Windows 10, it will not have Windows 10 in the supported list."
