Windows 10: "Automatic repair could't repair your PC" loop

Hello,


I was using my PC and windows 10 notified that an awaiting update or upgrade (I don't remember exactly), so reboot first to install the updates/upgrade.



Then when rebooting, The system installed some stuff and it then restarted automatically but it was stuck on the first black screen with my laptop brand logo. I left my PC like that all night but it was still on that screen. So the next morning I manually turned it off and restarted.


It then entered the diagnostic and repair mode. After that I had the following message:

"Startup repair couldn't repair your pc"

Log file: E:\Recovery\WindowsRE\Winre.wim\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt


I have no E drive in my laptop.


No matter which restore option I try in the menu it ends saying there is a problem and the selected option is not performed. The only thing that works is when I select startup options it tries to restart but it then gets back in the loop.


Is there a way to fix this error without deleting programs or resetting the pc ?


I have read other posts that suggest using the DISM tool but for that I need to launch it as admin. the thing is that I don't know how to start the command prompt as admin. I am stuck in the loop so I can't start an admin command prompt.

Automatic Repair Loop Continued Woes

Automatic repair loop

So I have a year old ASUS laptop. Yesterday it entered the automatic repair loop and now I can't get it out. I have tried a number of fixes. Firstly I tried doing the followings command

• bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd
• bootrec.exe /fixmbr
• bootrec.exe /Fixboot

followed by chkdsk but nothing seems to happened

Then I did a system restore which seemed to fix it for a while but then it rebooted to the repair loop. Finally I reset the PC and reinstalled windows. Again this worked for a while and then rebooted to the repair loop. I am stuck and any help would
be appreciated.
