Windows 10: Windows .NET Framework installer keeps asking for download another ver

I have re-installed Windows 10 on my laptop and installed all the up-dates (1803.17134.407)
When installing another app it requires me to install .net 2.0 (Even though ver.4 is already part of Windows)
It has a link to Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2.
On installing this it requires me to download .NET 2.0 ??? That's what I am trying to run......
I have several versions on my drive (3.0 & 4.0) But all pointing me back to the Microsoft website.
What am I supposed to do?

.Net Framework - Windows 7

Thanks for the links, I ran the cleanup utility, got rid of the existing .net installs, reinstalled them all, but am now back to the same issue. The troubleshooting didn't help a lot of windows 7 unfortunately.

I have a feeling this is a side effect of my install of Visual Studio 2010. *Frown

Try installing Microsoft .NET Framework 4, the newer version: webinstaller or stand-alone.
