Windows 10: URL / Links in emails blocked

Hi all

first post. Probably a daft question, but despite all, im struggling to find an answer.

Bought this PC new some months ago and since i believe following an update at some time now any URL or links in emails are blocked from opening. - i dont remember this happening from the outset -

The main issue is my Outlook 07 - the same software that i used without issue on my old XP PC for at least three years.

I get a message saying that theyre blocked due to restrictions in place on this computer and to contact your sys admin. As this is a personal home PC I am the sys admin, a role that ive done since about 1986. despite this I cant find a way round this and a couple of other pointless MS bullshit restrictions, but on this one i have not found a working solution.

Another typical MS restriction that narks me is opening JPGs. The graphics software I use on opening any new image prompts me with a dialog box whether I want to open the file or get a prompt each time. I click the FOADBMA box but id love to disable the bloody thing nag altogether. Again ive searched for registry fixes etc and found none. Anyone got any ideas? This isnt restricted to the new machine. This started a couple of years ago.

Ive gone through all the obvious setting several times toggling settings on and off, searched online, tried several 'guaranteed fixes' none of which have worked, so im throwing out to you peeps in the hope that someone out there has a solution as to why Win 10 is such a pedantic pain in the arse. cheers, Phil.

Try blocking the address by following these steps:

1- Enter in Outlook.com, click on the gear (options).

2- Tap on more mail configuration options.

3- In the section to avoid unwanted email and click on safe and blocked senders.

4- Enter blocked senders and then enter the email address and click on add to the list.

With this option you should not receive more emails, in such case to carry out these steps and these emails keep coming to you please notify the abuse address provided.
